Log Message:
Fixed a memory allocation bug in the kernel, wherein insuccificent memory
was allocated during cancellation of transactions. This was causing
spurious behaviors and was resulting in segfaults in certain cases.

This check in fixes the simulation time problems reported by Dale after his
(earlier) modifications to the test case (under savant/test).
