Subject: first in series of savant prereleases available

Due to popular demand, we've decided to release the first set of prerelease
packages for the new savant/tyvis/warped suite. We're still working
towards meeting all of the development goals, but progress is being made
and this will give interested parties a chance to try things out and report
problems to us.
Here are some known issues about this version of the prerelease:
- parallel simulation of VHDL is unsupported
- a warped configuration file must be explicitly specified with each
simulation run
- the documentation has not been updated at all
- currently the regression test is approaching results of the old system,
but not quite as high
The first issue probably will not be resolved prior to the release of the
2.0 system. The other issues will be resolved before the release.
We would appreciate any/all feedback and bug reports. We've set up a bug
reporting system to facilitate the effort. It is also in a "prerelease"
state, and any problems or concerns should be reported to me via email.
