I grabbed it, now I have 1.33MR31 (although the README file says
otherwise). I also switched to GCC 3.0 by setting
export CC=gcc3
export CXX=g++3
what configure seems to recognize ok.
However, I still get the error message:

The error message is a bit different with gcc 3.0 but otherwise there's
no difference.
