VESTs

VESTs is a test suite for the VHDL language. It uses the dejagnu testing framework to drive the VHDL tools under test. In its default configuration, it is setup to test the SAVANT/TyVIS/warped VHDL tool chain described in these web pages. The VESTs test suite is released under the GNU General Public License Version 2 and is available via anonymous cvs pserver access with the command:

cvs -d :pserver:anonymous@cvs.cliftonlabs.com:/usr/local/cvsroot co vests

VESTs is not intended to be a compliance suite or even a single unified test system for VHDL. Instead it is designed to be a public repository containing tests that can be meaningfully organized for the various versions or important subsets of the VHDL language. We welcome and encourage contributions to VESTs with the restriction that the tests must be distributed under the GNU General Public License Version 2.

We welcome and encourage contributions to VESTs archive. Ideally we would prefer that the patches/contributions come in as context diffs from the cvs archive. If you would like to submit patches/code for the VESTs archive, please email us. Thank you.
